Breast Screening - Over 70s

The NHS offers breast screening to reduce the number of women who die from breast cancer.  Screening does this by finding breast cancers at an early stage when they are too small to see or feel.  Breast cancer is more common in women aged over 50.  Breast screening is offered to all women aged between 50 and 70 years of age.  Women over the age of 70 years can self refer but unfortunately this has been placed on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Self refer services for over 70 years should resume again shortly.
